Center Prodh presents new report on public security and expresses concerns before the IACHR in Washington
Today, Center Prodh´s latest report: “Human Rights Under Siege: Public Security and Criminal Justice in México” was launched in the Inter American Dialogue in Washington (http://www.thedialogue.org), an event co-convoked by the Due Process of Law Foundation. The report addresses themes of the militarization of public security, constitutional reforms in criminal justice and the excessive use of force by Mexican police. In the framework of the current public security crisis in Mexico and the Merida Initiative, the launch of this report was attended by academics, representatives of the US government and members of civil society. Both Mexican NGOs and representatives of the Mexican government presented their points of view before the Commission.
